Clinical Exposure:
- You will see everything (no jokes) and will be able to do little to help. Your calls are either ward & Anes, obs & peads or in casualty. The hospital does >600 a month. You will have obs exposure if you like it or not.
Departments worked in:
- Surgery, Emergency Department - If you want to cut you can do a lot of C/S, amputations and small things. You will become independent and figure out how to do things by googling them or winging it.
- Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Emergency Department, OPD’s
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Emergency Department, OPD’s
Social Scene:
- The surrounding farms’ people and other commserves will be your saving grace.
Additional Comments:
- Themba hospital (the referring hospital) is unhelpful at best and you will struggle to refer. Rob Ferreira hospital will not help you unless you have a loophole. Do not mix this hospital up with Shongwe. That place is great and you will hate them for it.
- Poor supervision, comm serve run hospital.
