Academics:
- Amazing teaching on rounds and weekly academics by both MOs and consultants.
Supervision:
- Always someone available to ask an opinion / phone for a question and don’t have to be nervous about it. Consultants push you to be better but are the most supportive too.
Clinical Exposure:
- You see it ALLLL
Departments worked in:
- Internal Medicine, Emergency Department - I did 6months medicine & 6 months EC. Supervision in both was great. Patient load is always high. Definitely will learn a lot & accredited for diplomas.
- Emergency Department.
- Emergency Department.
Social Scene:
- It is what you make it. If you’re at the hospital then you work in a team of 4, at Heideveld it’s just you and one MO. Lots of regular locums too (usually old MPH comm serves) - good vibes between everyone, post night shift breakfasts are a thing.
Additional Comments:
- “You won’t find a better family than those you make at MPH.
Comm serve is hard, but you don’t go to work to sit on your ass.”
