Requirements :

MBChB degree or equivalent qualification PLUS
Proof of current registration with HPCSA (2026 Receipt)
Certificate of current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical specialist in Surgery.
Certificate of Service (Proof of Work Experience) from previous and current employer endorsed and stamped by HR must be attached.

EXPERIENCE
Medical Officer Grade 1: No experience required from South African qualified employees.
One (1) year relevant experience after registration as a Medical Practitioner with a recognized foreign health professional council in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Medical Officer Grade 2 Five(5) years’ relevant experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
Six (6)years’ relevant experience after registration as a Medical Practitioner with a recognized foreign health professional council in respect of foreign-qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Medical Officer Grade 3 Ten (10) years’ relevant experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
Eleven (11) years’ relevant experience after registration as a Medical Practitioner with a recognized foreign health professional council in respect of foreign-qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Knowledge and skills in adult and Paediatric Emergency Resuscitative intervention.
Clinical Knowledge in Acute and Chronic Surgical Management of patients.
Good interpersonal and supervisory skills.
Supervision of students, interns, doctors, auxiliary staff and registrars.
Accomplished in management of surgical trauma.
Knowledge and capability of performing and teaching laparoscopic surgery.

Duties :

Provision of quality cantered medical care to all patients in the Surgical Unit.
Maintain accurate medical record in accordance with legal and ethical guideline
Supervision of interns, doctors, auxiliary staff
Participation I after-hours duties is compulsory
Provision to assist in the outreach programs
