Requirements:
Appropriate MMed, FCP, or equivalent qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Internal Medicine. Proof of current registration with the HPCSA as an Independent Practice Specialist Medicine for the period 2025/2026. Proof of working experience endorsed by Human Resource. In respect of South Africa qualified employees, experience required: Grade 1: No experience required. Grade 2: 5 years of appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist (Internal Medicine). Grade 3: 10 years of appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist (Internal Medicine). Certified proof of service record as a Medical Specialist. Valid driver’s license. Be a South African citizen or be a permanent resident.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience in supervision and teaching of under-graduate and postgraduate students. Knowledge of Public Service Legislation, policies and procedures. Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills, and report writing skills. Good interpersonal skills with colleagues and other departments. Honesty, integrity, and high work ethics.
Duties:
Service delivery and medical administration within adult Endocrinology services: Provide outreach, in-reach, and support services, rendering commuted overtime is compulsory. Involvement in teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students within Endocrinology services. Conduct research. Perform clinical governance and ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements with FSDoH, OHSC, HPCSA, CMSA, UFS. Perform clinical Internal Medicine duties. Conducting clinical audits, mortality and morbidity. Monitoring and evaluating of relevant clinical effectiveness indicators.
