A valid (code B/EB) driver’s license and willingness to travel. Willingness to work overtime. Commuted overtime is compulsory.
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
Clinical service provision, including participating in community-orientated primary care activities. Participate in the Teaching program, including in-service capacity building of staff and supervision of health sciences students. Research and Professional Development (incl. completion of MMED mini dissertation). Effective Clinical Administration in patient records and patient reports as part of the leadership and clinical governance activities.
Computer literacy (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet research). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal and time-management skills.

Preference will be given to SA citizens/permanent residents with a valid identity document. No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. “Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements may also apply. Such candidates will only be considered for appointments on condition that proof of application for registration with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted on or before the day of the interview. As such they are entitled to receive pay progression. Appointment as Registrar will be for a maximum contract period of 4 years. Employees in service who opt to continue with their pension benefits as Registrar, will be required to resign after completion of their registrarship should they not be successful for advertised Specialist positions. Should registration with the HEI as a student be discontinued, for any reason the appointment of Registrar also discontinues. Applicants must indicate whether they have bursary obligations. R 1 001 349 per annum - R 1 046 763 per annum (It will be expected of the successful candidates to participate in a system of remunerated commuted overtime). A portion of the package can be structured according to the individual’s personal needs.
