Requirements :

Grade 12 plus an appropriate qualification that allows registration as an Independent Practitioner. No experience required after registration as a Medical Registrar. Must have completed Post Community Service. Registration with HPCSA for the financial year 2025/26. Registrars will be rotated between institutions. The following will be an added advantage: Work experience in the field of Medical Practitioner; CMSA part 1 examinations; auxiliary courses relevant to the field of Medical Practitioner.

Duties :

Interview, investigate, diagnose, and oversee the treatment of patients. Supervise junior doctors (undergraduate students, interns and community service doctors). Attend of relevant administrative meetings like mortality meetings, near miss meetings and completing MEDICO Legal Documents timeously (e.g. Death certificate). Improve quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care. Reduce medical litigation by exercising good clinical ethos. Implement and monitor adherence to National Core Standards (norms and standards). Participate in all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching and research. Participate in multidisciplinary team to the management of patients. Perform of practical procedures relevant to the care of patients. Ensure effective administration and safety record keeping in the department. Willing to work after hours (night, weekend and public holiday) to provide continuous uninterrupted care of patients.

The performance of normal and commuted overtime is not mandatory, however it will be based on the operational needs of the hospitals.
