Requirements:
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as Medical Specialist. A minimum of 3 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after Registration with HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology. Proof of current registration with the HPCSA. Certified proof of service record as a Medical Specialist or a Sub Specialty in Anaesthesiology. Valid driver’s license. Be a South African or a permanent resident of South African.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience in teaching and learning medical students and registrars. Knowledge of Public service legislation, policies and procedures. Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills and report writing skills. Good-interpersonal skills with colleagues and other departments. Honesty, integrity and high work ethics. Appropriate experience and other clinical teaching or managerial qualifications.
Duties:
To manage anesthesia services for Pelonomi Hospital and participate in provision of anesthesia services (clinical service, teaching, research) for the Bloemfontein Academic Complex. Responsibilities include pre and postoperative care and pain relief. supervision and academic and clinical training of juniors (registrars, medical officers, students, nursing personnel), and research, as well as administrative/managing responsibility for the Pelonomi anesthesia services.

Manage and Supervise the learning and training of doctors in the Anaesthesia department at Dihlabeng Regional Hospital and its catchment area.
