- Outreach is provided by paediatrics, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology and psychiatry.
Supervision:
- You are on your own when it comes to decision-making, there is minimal supervision but adequate room for discussion with referral centres for advice.
Clinical Exposure:
- You will see a large variety of pathology ranging from all departments. You will also get adequate theatre time for caesarean sections, anaesthetics- GA and spinals.

- Internal Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Anaesthetics, Psychiatry, ARV clinic, Emergency Department, OPD’s - "I’ve ticked all because you deal with a range of cases from all departments of medicine.
The more keen and aggressive you are about cutting the more time you will get in theatre. The most common cases with include amputations, caesarean sections and ectopic pregnancies. "
Social Scene:
- A good group of friendly staff, not much to do in Caledon itself but the surrounding areas are beautiful and Hermanus is around the corner. Make friends with your colleagues!
